Landscaping Project

We are currently undertaking a huge project at Taddy Creek to redesign and improve the whole property.

Josh Byrne and Associates have drawn up a master plan of the design to be completed over a 3 year period. The re-design is based on permaculture methods of gardening and sustainability and will be implemented in 3 stages.

Stage One 2008

The first stage of this project began in Winter 2008 with the first tree plantings along the North West boundary.

A special children's garden will be purpose built which includes a labyrinth of pathways winding through herb and ornamental garden beds. Climbing totem poles and stepping poles will be included for extra fun along with a special "picnic" area for kids only!!

Stage Two 2009

Revegetation and restoration of the creek and dams includes a clean up of the vegetation along the creek and around the dams. The reinstatement of indigenous vegetation will take place and there will be the installation of some bridges and boardwalks over the creek. A timber deck is to be built over one of the dams so you can wander down and enjoy a picnic looking over the water.

Food Forest - A mini "Food Forest" will be planted between the house and the creek and will include a selection of fruit and nut trees.

Tracks and trails - Walking and vehicle access trails will be installed around the property for you to meander along and enjoy the surroundings.

Stage Three - 2010/2011

Timber Crops - a selection of timber crops will be planted in the front paddock. These trees will be available for use in the future for furniture and cabinet making.
